The concept is known as “magnetic water treatment” and it’s currently not a proven technology, but certainly worth knowing about so that you can make an educated decision on the topic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Magnetic water treatment<\/strong>\u00c2 (also known as\u00c2 anti-scale magnetic treatment<\/strong>\u00c2 or\u00c2 AMT<\/strong>) is a method of supposedly reducing the effects of\u00c2 hard water<\/a>\u00c2 by passing it through a\u00c2 magnetic field<\/a>\u00c2 as a non-chemical alternative to\u00c2 water softening<\/a>. This same idea is applied to a magnetic water softener equipment which is meant to reduce the hardness of the water as it passes through the magnetic field that the equipment emits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The equipment is a tool that is wrapped around a water pipe – so as the water passes through the pipe, the magnetic field then is supposed to make the water softer by pulling or changing the ions in the water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These magnetic water softeners work more like descaling tools instead of actual water softeners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the process, energy is induced to the minerals which pass through the magnetic water conditioner. As water flows through it, the hard water minerals take on a different crystalline structure form when precipitated. There have been many studies (over a hundred by some reports) on the effectiveness of these magnetic water softeners but none have come back with a resounding absolute “yes” it absolutely works. This leads many to be very skeptical of the technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our recommendation therefore is to go with a traditional water softener system where you know for sure that you will be getting what you are paying for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
