This could be any of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Unsecured (loose) pipes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Water hammer issue<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your water pressure is too high<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>So, let&#8217;s take a look at how to fix each of these issues to help you with your problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Unsecured \/ Loose Pipes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The water pipes throughout your home are oftentimes secured with straps here and there as they snake along behind your walls. After some times, these straps could break. If that happens, when water rushes through the pipe it could cause it to vibrate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, the problem is in trying to find WHERE that specific broken strap is. Unfortunately, there is no scan or product that can detect that easily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You might be able to locate it if there is a loud sign or other very apparent event that occurs to let you know that the specific area you hear that sound from may be the location of the broken strap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The only other method is to break holes in the walls or ceilings to try to find it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Water Hammer Issue<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>According to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Water_hammer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Wikipedia<\/a>&nbsp;&#8211; a water hammer is a&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pressure\">pressure<\/a>&nbsp;surge or wave caused when a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fluid\">fluid<\/a>, usually a liquid but sometimes also a gas, in motion is forced to stop or change direction suddenly; a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Momentum\">momentum<\/a>&nbsp;change. This phenomenon commonly occurs when a valve closes suddenly at an end of a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pipeline_transport\">pipeline<\/a>&nbsp;system, and a pressure wave propagates in the pipe. This pressure wave can cause major problems, from noise and vibration to pipe collapse. It is possible to reduce the effects of the water hammer pulses with&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hydraulic_accumulator\">accumulators<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Expansion_tank\">expansion tanks<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Surge_tank\">surge tanks<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Blowoff_valve\">blowoff valves<\/a>, and other features.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Water hammers should not be ignored because in time, they could cause some serious damage to your water pipes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The best way to fix this problem is to install (and or repair) a water hammer arrestor. This usually looks like a pipe that is located close to a fixture.
